HI, I’m jamie

I’ve been casually and seriously throwing pots since I was in college studying Art History at Virginia Tech. I’ve had the joy of learning from many potters over the years and of all the skills I’ve picked up along the way, it was my college ceramics professors obsession with the shape of a cups rim that has stuck with me the most. To this day I will fiddle around with the rim of a cup until I know he’d allow me to keep that vessel instead of force me to destroy it. Today I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer. In those mountains is where SHED was first established.

I have a tendency to produce a decent amount of work so I’ve had to find various ways to offload my vessels. Most often at local craft fairs. I am open to shipping, I’m just not set up to do so with any sort of frequency. Ceramics is my hobby, though I have found a way to weave it into my professional life which has proven to be a perk on both sides. When I’m not getting dirty in my studio or in the mountains I’m leading brand and marketing at Fireclay Tile.

Thanks for stopping by and if you have a question about the availability of any work feel free to drop me a line. Here’s to staying centered!
