It started with a dirt pile.
I’ve had a lifelong love affair with clay. It started in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the backyard of my childhood home that was full of iron-rich, Virginia clay. This is where I first learned how easy it is to get lost in the dirt. For most of my adult life, I’ve taken ceramics classes or produced work in local studios up and down the West Coast, and even Texas. After many years of dreaming of the day I’d have a space of my own, in the winter of 2024, with the help of a local contractor, I was able to convert my backyard shed into a 120-square-foot pottery studio. And at long last, SHED was born.
where to find shed?
Pottery is my hobby which means I’m not regularly stocking an online shop. You will find me at local craft fairs and makers markets in and around Santa Cruz, CA and eventually… maybe… selling online. That is if I can overcome my utter hatred for the chore of going to a shipping center.
